Financial Sector Inflation Expectations for the Next Year Slightly Increased

Short-term inflation expectations of the financial sector, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Ninamedija agency, continued to remain within the target range of the National Bank of Serbia in April and stood at 3.5%. Expected inflation in the financial sector for two years ahead remained unchanged compared to the previous month and amounted to 3.3% in April, while expected inflation for three years ahead increased slightly — from 3% in March to 3.1% in April.


According to the results of the May survey conducted by the Bloomberg agency, financial sector inflation expectations for one year ahead increased slightly — from 3.5% in April to 3.8% in May.

Short-term inflation expectations among business representatives, according to the Ninamedija survey, rose from 4% in March to 5% in April, which is also the level of expectations for two and three years ahead, matching the levels recorded during last year and at the beginning of this year. Medium-term expectations in the business sector continued to move within the 4% to 5% range over the past year.
