Growth was recorded in industrial production, the processing industry, tourism, retail trade, as well as foreign trade, while a decline was recorded in the construction industry.
Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijevic expressed her expectation, as announced, that the results in the next quarter would be far more positive, especially when it came to transport infrastructure.
It was also emphasized at the session that inflation in Serbia in the first quarter of the current year had been close to the European level, where it had amounted to 3.1%, and that Serbia was at the bottom of the list of countries in Europe in terms of public debt.
Members of the Council for the Coordination of Activities and Measures for GDP Growth analyzed the situation in economic areas that directly affected GDP growth, as well as the results of visits to companies that contributed the most to GDP, by both Prime Minister Macut and the relevant ministers. Macut announced the continuation of such visits, since the state’s goal, as he stated, is constant communication and support for companies.
