Smederevo to obtain industrial railway, investment worth 8.6m EUR

Company "Serbian Railways" announced that the Administrative Board of that company had made the decision on construction of industrial railway in Smederevo.

That will be the railway that will connect the new cargo port on the Danube, the property of company "U.S. Steel Srbija", with the existing railway Smederevo-Mala Krsna and New iron-works.

The plan is that the construction of the railway 5.5 km long starts in 2006. According to the announcements, that will be the investment worth 8.6m EUR, which should be financed by the Government of Serbia.
