Uzice pharmacies to be concessioned for 20 years – Public call for bids issued

Uzice has issued a public call for a concession for the financing, revitalization, management and performance of pharmaceutical activities in this city and other local government units in the Zlatibor District (Arilje, Bajina Basta, Kojseric, Nova Varos, Pozega, Priboj, Prijepolje, Sjenica and Cajetina).

The concessionaire will be granted a concession for the Pharmacy Institution of Uzice for a period of 20 years from the date of the signing of the contract, with the concessionaire bearing the risk related to the commercial use of the subject of the concession.

The private partner – the concessionaire, or the most favorable bidder, as specified, will take over the Pharmacy Institution of Uzice in its entirety, which, among other things, includes taking over all obligations and debts. The concessionaire is obliged to independently settle all obligations and debts of the pharmacy (towards suppliers, employees, etc.), which would free the city budget from these burdens.

The concessionaire also takes over all pharmaceutical staff, with the obligation not to cancel employment contracts on the basis of technological redundancy in the first 12 months. It is also obliged to pay rent and expenses for all real estate in which pharmacies operate, in accordance with existing lease agreements or other legally prescribed bases of use, regardless of whether these real estates are in the public ownership of the city or are leased from third parties (private owners or other right holders).

– Due to the length of the concession, revitalization would involve investments in renovation of the space in accordance with real needs and priorities, procurement of modern equipment, digitalization of processes in accordance with technological changes and improvement of the quality of services. Management includes the daily operations of the institution: procurement of medicines, cost optimization, inventory management and ensuring continuity of supply of medicines. The concessionaire will operate in cooperation with the city, i.e. will submit regular reports – the invitation emphasizes.

The deadline for submitting bids is June 30.
