The Vlasina plateau, known for its untouched nature and lake, is officially entering a new phase of tourism development. Vlasina has not yet had a fully developed ski resort, although visitors have enjoyed skiing on local slopes such as “Pejine vodenice” for years. However, the latest decision of the Serbian Government shows that the first step towards the construction of a major ski complex has been taken.

Namely, in April, the Government passed a decision on determining public interest in the expropriation of plots in the Vlasina Okruglica Administrative District, with the aim of building a ski resort.

Based on the Vlasina Okruglica General Regulation Plan from 2012, a complete infrastructure for winter tourism is planned for this location: a system of ski slopes for alpine skiing, gondolas and ski lifts that will connect the foothills with the high-altitude zones, as well as supporting facilities, parking and access roads.

The Municipality of Surdulica has been designated as the beneficiary of the expropriation, which will contact the owners of the plots to agree on the payment of market compensation.
