Post of Serbia achieves profit of EUR 15.7 million in 2025 – Operating with 1,000 fewer employees this year

The Post of Serbia ended last year as a public company, with a registered net profit of EUR 15.7 million, while at the same time reducing the number of employees by 1,119 employees, according to the published financial reports of this state-owned company for 2025.

On January 13 of this year, the Post changed its legal form to a limited liability company.

Most income from regular operations

The Post of Serbia achieved 35.2 billion dinars (EUR 300 million) in operating income in the area of regular operations, which is 2.6% higher than the previous year, according to the financial reports of this state-owned company for 2025.

The total income of the Post of Serbia in 2025 was 38.4 billion dinars (EUR 326.6 million).

Of this, 35.2 billion dinars relates to the aforementioned business income generated in the area of regular operations.

The financial income amounts to 526 million dinars, while other income amounts to 2.7 billion dinars.

Money from renting out business premises

The revenue from renting out business premises (mainly to Telekom) makes up 77% of the Post’s other income and is 0.2% lower than in previous years.

“Revenue from renting out business premises, which for the business year 2025 was reported in the total amount of 2,291,678,000 dinars, refers entirely to income from renting out business and warehouse space services provided under concluded lease agreements to customers Telekom Srbija a.d., PD Mobtel-PTT and Banka Postanska stedionica a.d. (vault lease),” it is stated in the Notes to the Post’s financial statements for 2025.

Other rents, which for the year ending December 31, 2025, were reported in the amount of 450.9 million, relate to lease agreements signed with other individuals and legal entities.

In addition to rental income, other operating income also includes income invoiced based on reimbursement of utility costs from tenants of business premises and other (occasional) activities, the documentation states.

The total expenses of the Post of Serbia were calculated in the amount of 36.3 billion dinars, as follows: 95.6% operating and 4.4% financial and other.

Negative employment growth rate

During 2025, the total number of employees at the Serbian Post decreased by 8.02% compared to the previous year.

At the end of 2024, a total of 13,954 employees were employed, and a year later 12,835, which is 1,119 employees fewer.

“The negative employment growth rate of 8.9% for indefinite periods is largely due to the stimulation of amicable termination of employment and natural attrition. The negative employment growth rate of 1.55% for indefinite periods is due to the situation on the labor market and the transformation of employment for 302 employees from a definite to an indefinite period,” the reports state.

As emphasized, on December 31, 2025, the Post hired six people, without establishing employment, three people by signing contracts for performing temporary and occasional work and three people by signing contracts for authorship.

The Post of Serbia states that the planned funds for the period January-December 2025, in the amount of 6.7 billion dinars, for financing investment activities were realized at 40.7%, “which nominally amounts to 2.7 billion dinars.”

Compared to the previous year, it is stated that 41.5% more funds were realized, which amounts to about 800 million dinars.

Structure of investments

In the period January-December 2025, 20.3 percent of the Post’s total investment activities are budget realization based on operating leasing.

Investments in GPC, i.e. expansion of the capacity of the existing automated mail sorting system, account for 28.9%. Investments in equipment procurement account for 32.2%, in transport vehicles for 16.5%, in construction and adaptation of facilities for 1.4%, while investments in office furniture account for 0.3% of total cash.

The net profit amounts to 1.8 billion dinars, or EUR 15.7 million.

Long-term liabilities at 369.6 million dinars

The Post’s financial statements say that the long-term liabilities in the amount of 369.6 million dinars relate to: leasing (liabilities arising from the lease of business, warehouse, parking space and vehicle leasing, based on signed contracts longer than one year) and housing loans (liabilities towards Solidarity Housing Construction Funds in the territory of the Republic of Serbia).

The short-term financial liabilities consist of liabilities arising from leasing that mature by the end of 2026, as well as current maturities arising from housing loans.

In the period January-December 2025, 290 million services were provided, which, according to the Post of Serbia, is 6.7% less than the previous year.

As of December 31, 2025, 685 disputes were initiated before the competent courts against the Post of Serbia, totaling 407,320,000 dinars and EUR 6.2 million, excluding the effects of potential default interest and court costs, according to the Notes to the Financial Statements for 2025.
