Luxembourg-based United Group SA interested in Zelezara Smederevo

Luxembourg-based United Group SA holding is interested in investing in Zelezara Smederevo, the Office of Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Jovan Krkobabic announced in a statement.

Krkobabic today received Igor Shamis, the owner of the holding comprising Pilsen Steel from Czech Republic and Bumash AD from Russia, who said that United Group SA was ready to invest in the Smederevo steelworks, reads the statement delivered to Tanjug news agency.

Krkobabic thanked Mr. Shamis for expressing interest and readiness to invest in the leading exporter in Serbia.

Pilsen Steel is a result of the fusion of former Skoda's steel plants.

The steelworks in Czech Republic has a tradition 150 years long, and both companies, Pilsen Steel and Bumash AD, are specialized in the production of metals and machines.
