Israel's Plaza Centers opened Tuesday in Kragujevac the first shopping and entertainment center in Serbia, worth over EUR 60 million.
Plaza Centers Serbia CEO Sagiv Meger said at the opening ceremony of Plaza Kragujevac that the shopping center spanning 65,000 square meters and comprising 110 outlets would employ between 500 and 700 workers.
- This shopping center will change the look of the city and improve the life of the citizens of Sumadija - Meger said, adding that the shopping center also included the first multiplex (movie theater complex) with six 350-seat auditoriums.
Kragujevac Mayor Veroljub Stevanovic said that the city had got a modern, "spaceship-like" shopping center, adding that Kragujevac was no more a place that people used to call "the famine valley," but the city of future.
The shopping center in Kragujevac is the first out of Plaza Centers' four planned investments in Serbia.
The Plaza Centers Group has been implementing real estate projects in Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Lithuania, Greece, Bulgaria, India and Serbia for more than 19 years.
