– Exports to Greece are developed, Serbia exports fruit, vegetables, industrial products and the like, we have traditionally good relations, good economic relations, in addition to the excellent political and cultural ties shared by our peoples. Bilateral trade is close to a billion euros, but new ways can always be found to further develop exports. From our perspective, Krusevac and southern Serbia are very important, primarily because of their location and proximity to Greece. This location can be a hub from which Greek products will be further marketed on European markets – said Antonis Katepodis, Advisor to the Economic Department of the Embassy of Greece in Serbia.
Director of the Krusevac Regional Chamber of Commerce Maja Markovic pointed out that one of the goals was for the Port of Thessaloniki to offer more favorable conditions for Serbian businessmen operating within their port.
– For all business people who rely on industrial production, agriculture and processing, the Port of Thessaloniki is a key place for efficient import and export of goods, and reducing the costs and delivery times of goods. Transport and logistics are of strategic importance for the development of the economy and the state because they increase the competitiveness of domestic companies – she said.
Commercial Director of the Port of Thessaloniki Nikolaos Fokas emphasized that Serbia was a key strategic partner.
– Our goal is to enable Serbian companies to access global markets faster, more efficiently and more cost-effectively through the port of Thessaloniki. Thessaloniki is not just an alternative, but a natural gateway for Serbia’s international trade – he said.
