State and Serbian Orthodox Church to establish Saint Sava University

Members of the Government have adopted the text of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church on cooperation in establishing the Saint Sava University. The reason for adopting this document is the need for constant “improvement of the educational system and raising its quality in accordance with the principles of knowledge, upbringing and morality.”

– This university is being established with the intention that cooperation between the state and the Church in the field of higher education be based on joint responsibility for the development of knowledge, the preservation of fundamental values of the individual and society, and the nurturing of cultural and spiritual heritage – the statement states.
