Telekom also buying Austrian cybersecurity firm Pulsec - cybersecurity company

Just a day after Telekom Srbija announced that “a small portion of data was stolen” from the m:SAT tv satellite television user database, the North Macedonian Competition Protection Commission announced that MTEL Global, owned by the state-owned Serbian telecom operator, plans to buy a majority stake in Vienna-based Austrian cybersecurity company Pulsec GmbH.

Telekom informed the North Macedonian Anti-Monopoly Commission of its intention to make the purchase on March 10, a week before the theft of data on its satellite television users, and the commission informed the public about Telekom’s intention on March 18.

By the way, the local company of the same name, Pulsec Belgrade, has already been majority-owned by Telekom since January 16 last year.

Namely, a year and two months ago, Telekom Srbija bought a majority stake in the company Pulsec Belgrade - the state-owned telecom operator owns 51% of the ownership, and two individuals: Zarko Filipovic and Dalibor Ratkovic a minority stake - each 24.5%.

The only owners of this Serbian company before the sale of the majority stake to Telekom were Filipovic and Ratkovic.

They are, in fact, minority co-owners of the Austrian Pulsec GmbH from Vienna.
