New Avgerinos factory opens in Subotica

In the presence of Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, a new factory of Avgerinos, which packages and markets nuts and dried fruits on domestic and foreign markets, was opened in Subotica. The investment value is 218.6 million dinars, while the Prosperitati Foundation supported the construction with 98.3 million dinars.

Over the past 10 years, the Hungarian government has supported investments worth 500 million euros in Serbia through the Prosperitati Foundation.

Peter Szijjarto stated that Hungarians in Vojvodina had been in the best position in the past 80 years, and that the primary reason for that was the highest level of cooperation between Hungary and Serbia.

According to him, the second reason is that the Hungarian government had recognized the needs of Vojvodina’s Hungarians, that is, provided economic support for the economic strengthening of the Hungarian community in Serbia.

– We have done that and will continue to do so, but we must stay out of the war and deny the money of the Hungarian people to the corrupt regime in Ukraine. Only the current national government of Hungary can do that – said Szijjarto.

The President of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, Balint Pasztor, said that the economic development program of that party showed that members of the community were staying here, building their future and ensuring a dignified life.

– Through the “Prosperitati” foundation, investments in agriculture, economy and tourism have been secured, which have ensured a better life for more than 70,000 Vojvodina Hungarians – Pastor emphasized.
