Opportunity for more cargo traffic from Serbia – Air Serbia joins Freightos cargo booking platform

Air Serbia is joining Freightos, a digital marketplace for booking and paying for international cargo, PR Newswire reports. The integration enables freight forwarders across Europe and the United States to use digital booking and payments, including those without IATA accreditation.

For Serbia and its national airline, this means more cargo traffic, faster and more secure payments, better connectivity to European and American markets, and a more competitive cargo sector.

The new collaboration means that Air Serbia’s cargo will be available for e-booking across its entire European network and the United States, including destinations that were previously not easily accessible through digital channels, such as Zagreb, Podgorica, Tbilisi, Tirana, Sarajevo, and Skopje.

Through the Freightos Pay solution, shippers can make fast and guaranteed digital payments, while reducing administrative tasks and financial risk for air carriers.

Air Serbia said the integration would streamline operations and allow for a focus on serving cargo customers, while Freightos said the digitalization of payments and reservations would contribute to a more efficient and accessible cargo market.
