Tender announced for design of new travel and personal documents of citizens of Montenegro

The issuing of these documents, which will the first documents issued in independent Montenegro, is schedulled for the beggining of the year 2007. The assistant to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, Svetozar Đurović, said that the tender would be opened prior to July 17, 2006.

According to the plan, the ID cards for the citizens of Montenegro, foreigners, refugees, diplomats, driver and car licenses should be printed in the form of banking cards and designed according to the up-to-date European standards with the possibility of electronic reading.

The passports for the citizens of Montenegro (official and diplomatic), the travel documents for refugees and foreigners, as well as the documents for persons who are not citizens of Montenegro, will be printed in the form of booklet.
