Reconstruction of Slavija Lux hotel to last until May, works on tower until end-2026

The work on the Slavija Lux facility should be completed by May, while the work on the tower is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, said Bojan Matijevic, Investment Director of Matijevic Group. The third facility in the hotel, Block A, is planned after the completion of the work on the “Lux” and the tower, and then the total value of the investment will exceed 25 million euros – Matijevic stated.

The most challenging part of the reconstruction is, as stated, the facade of the tower, which will retain the existing architectural features, but be covered with a special coating that creates the effect of a glass curtain wall. Pre-facade elements - sunshades - reduce the external influence of the sun, protect against overheating and UV radiation, thereby improving energy efficiency.

The sides of the tower will receive a relief surface with prominent circles reminiscent of the Slavija roundabout, while the front sides will have sunshades with lighting, adding visual quality to the building.

The existing partition walls will be replaced with plaster ones, and the old joinery will be completely renovated, making the building more energy efficient.

Restaurant and new rooms

The “Slavija Lux” hotel will retain the hotel concept: on floors one to six there will be 105 rooms, including double rooms, suites and rooms for people with disabilities. The ground floor is planned for the entrance hall, reception and piano bar, while the seventh floor will get a restaurant with a balcony.

– The reconstruction works on the tower, which began in December 2025, envisage 176 rooms with larger and more comfortable suites, by combining two rooms into one. The rooms will be rented on a monthly basis – adds Matijevic.
