Balkans Buying U.S. Smart City Technology: Beam Global Sells $1 Million in Infrastructure in Serbia and the Region in Just One Week

U.S. company Beam Global recorded sales of smart city infrastructure worth more than USD one million in the Balkan region in just one week in February this year. The contracts cover projects in Serbia, Romania, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, financial portal Insider Monkey reports.

The orders include telecommunications towers in Serbia, infrastructure solutions supporting railway transport in Croatia, advanced traffic portals in Romania and public lighting systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the financial website Stock Titan specifies.

It is added that the smart cities market in Europe will be worth USD 408.4 billion by 2030. Beam Global also operates in Serbia, in Belgrade and Kraljevo. This provider of innovative and sustainable solutions for electric vehicle charging and energy security completed the acquisition of the Belgrade-based company Telcom in autumn 2024, which develops and manufactures specialized power electronics including inverters, charge controllers, power supplies and LED lighting.

A year earlier the U.S. company acquired the Kraljevo-based Amiga, which produces specialized structures and equipment, including public lighting.

Beam Global’s solutions in Serbia are also used by Belgrade Airport, which at the end of 2024 announced that, in cooperation with the U.S. company, it had installed five solar stations with 10 chargers for electric vehicles at the airport’s premium parking area that operate independently of the power grid (off-grid), becoming, as stated, the first airport in the world to enable free charging of electric vehicle batteries using solar devices.
