The construction of the first metro station begins in April, in Bele Vode

In early April, the construction of the first station for the Belgrade Metro, located at the Bele vode area, will begin - Stojan Vujko, CEO of Millennium Team, has announced.

The Millennium Team group is involved in all key phases, from design to execution. The Institute for Water Management "Jaroslav Cerni", a member of the group, participates in the project of the first phase of the first line of the metro, from Zeleznik to Pancevac bridge, and does all the investigative work, the Millennium Team announced.

- In April, we start work on the construction of the launch shaft at Bele vode, where the route descends underground, after which the tunnel boring machine, so-called "mole", owned by the Millennium Team group, begins its work. At the same time, another TBM machine from the Power China company will start digging at Karaburma, and the two machines will meet at the Fair - Vujko explained.

As he stated, the TBM machine is an extremely complex system, approximately 200 meters long, with a daily construction progress of about ten meters.

The Millennium Team - Mostogradnja ING consortium is the main contractor on the section from Zeleznik to the Belgrade Fair, while the other part of the route will be done by Power China, whereby the partners are equal in the performance of the works.

Vujko pointed out that all construction works are expected to be completed in 2030.
