The state will continue to subsidize agricultural production on areas of up to 100 ha of land per farm, despite allegations that the Ministry of Agriculture will reduce that threshold, the newspaper Politika has learned unofficially. It is also added that, despite the announcements of changes to the system of incentives in agriculture, the payment of 18,000 dinars per hectare will remain, and this amount will have to be fully justified by invoices. This will be followed by a variable part of the payment, which will depend on the type of production, Politika reports.

As stated, invoices for the purchase of seeds, fertilizers, protective equipment, etc. from the previous year, i.e. for financing autumn sowing, will also be taken into account. It is specified that the exact date until which the invoices will be valid will be specified and it remains to be seen, as stated by a Politika source familiar with the new incentive policy, whether it will be from July or September of the previous year.

As indicated, the point is that producers of agricultural products that have a higher value, but also greater investments in production, such as vegetable growers, fruit growers, flower producers, and winegrowers, will receive more money from the state treasury. They will receive additional incentives so that these sectors can develop.

It is emphasized that, compared to previous years, strict control will now be exercised to determine whether, for example, a plot of land that has been registered for corn production is actually under that crop. If it is determined that there is no match, the money will have to be returned with statutory default interest and the farm will be placed in a passive status, depending on the type of violation - from three to five years.
