This is the first transatlantic sale in Invera's history and one of the most significant private equity exits ever made in the region. This transaction, as emphasized, begins a new chapter for the global entertainment brand born in Croatia.
- It also completes a five-year partnership journey during which Museum of Illusions grew from a bold local idea into a company with global reach - the statement emphasizes.
Over the past five years, Invera, together with its founders, management team and trusted partners, has actively participated in the development and international expansion of the Museum of Illusions, which today operates on five continents and employs more than 600 people worldwide, of which more than 400 are in the United States.
As noted, this transaction does not represent a complete exit of Invera from the ownership structure. Invera will remain present as a minority co-owner in the years to come, continuing to support the company and participate in its further development in a new phase of growth, under the leadership of a new majority investor.
- This is an example of what we consider the essence of private equity - support for ambitious founders, joint building of a platform with global reach and the ability to hand over the company to the next investor at the right time, while maintaining a long-term connection to the whole story - said Kemal Sikiric, managing partner at Invera Equity Partners.
The sale of the Museum of Illusions to an American investor has a special symbolic value for the entire private industry in the region. This is a rare example of an American fund acquiring a global brand in the entertainment industry, rather than a software or technology platform, which has not been common for companies from this part of Europe, it is further stated.
- This transaction confirms that global companies can be built from our region and businesses can be implemented in the most demanding world markets. We are particularly proud that we sold entertainment to an American investor - concludes Sikiric.
Based on the exceptionally strong results of the first fund and the achieved returns for investors, Invera announces the launch of a new investment fund, the final closing of which is expected by the end of the first quarter of this year. The new fund has already met with strong interest from existing and new investors.
Invera plans to invest in around ten new platform companies in the next five years, with a focus on the markets of Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with selective investments in the wider DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
