The wind farm, designated as Vitello in international sources, matches the Vetrozelena project in all parameters, the largest wind farm to be built in Serbia, but also in the whole of Eastern Europe. It is planned in the Pancevo area.
The power plant will use turbine units with a capacity of 6.25 MW each, which will enable the production of enough electricity for tens of thousands of households.
According to Seetao, the project demonstrates how different Chinese companies can jointly cover the entire industrial chain - from equipment production to construction and infrastructure investments. The project not only enables the production of clean electricity in Serbia, but also demonstrates the competitiveness of Chinese high technology and international engineering experience.
Dongfang Wind Power, the portal reports, has conducted detailed research and optimized the turbine design to be adapted to Serbian standards, climate conditions and grid infrastructure. Special focus was placed on wind resistance, adaptability to low temperatures and compatibility with the power grid, in order to ensure long-term reliability and stable operation of the power plant.
The investor and contractor is China Power Construction Group (PowerChina). The project is expected to produce about 774 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity per year, with an operational period of 30 years, Seetao reports.
The official date for the start of construction and completion of the wind farm has not yet been announced. According to the official website of the Vetrozelena project, completion and commissioning are planned for 2027.
