Chinese Haitian planning to expand factory in Ruma by additional 50,000 m2 - New jobs also announced at plastic injection molding machine production facility

Chinese company Haitian, one of the global leaders in the production of CNC machines and high-pressure plastic injection molding machines, plans to expand its production facility in Ruma by another 50,000 square meters in the second phase of the investment, the Ruma municipality announced.

The new production complex is located in the "Rumska petlja" industrial zone, where more than 64,000 m2 of production space was built in the first phase on a total of 350,000 m2 of land. The factory has already entered trial production, and the first machines have been successfully placed on European markets, including Italy.

Haitian currently employs around 100 workers in Ruma, while at full capacity the number of employees is expected to triple. The company announced that the expansion of production will also be accompanied by the development of the local supplier network, as well as cooperation with domestic subcontractors.

- This is one of the most technologically advanced factories in Serbia. This is important not only for Ruma, but also for the entire country, because here we see technology for the 22nd century. Four years ago, when we had our first conversation with a Chinese investor, there was a field in this place, at "Rumska petlja", and today we have a factory that will very quickly improve Ruma, but also the entire country. The Haitian factory will be a major step forward for Serbia, primarily in terms of technological innovation. I can rightly say that this is the most significant investment in Ruma in the last four to five decades - said the President of the Municipality of Ruma, Dusan Ljubisic.

He added that, while investors were improving production, the local government was improving business conditions in the Rumska petlja industrial zone. In the first half of next year, a second layer of asphalt will be laid in the work zone, thanks to funds from the Provincial Government. A training center will also be launched at the Technical School in Ruma for the needs of this and other investors.

- The idea is that young people stay in their city and work, for a good salary, in the most technologically developed and advanced plants. The arrival of Haitian also implies higher salaries, as well as the engagement of subcontractors and local suppliers. Haitian will put Ruma on the world map of manufacturers of these machines and their arrival will show its real effects in the years to come - concluded Dusan Ljubisic.
