Tender for construction of the Belgrade metro's first line in 2013

A tender for the construction of the first metro line in Belgrade will be announced next year, Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilans announced today during his tour of the Karaburma facility of the City Transportation Company (GSP) Beograd, where first CNG buses were presented.

According to the mayor's words, several minor changes have been made to earlier plans for the construction of a high-capacity city transport system.

- A primary study for the metro construction in Belgrade is completed. There are several minor changes in the plans. As far as I know, two of the metro lines will intersect at Republic Square - said Djilas.

Once the study is adopted by the parliament, everything will be ready for the launch of a tendering process.

- An invitation to bid for the construction of the first metro line will be published during the next year - Djilas announced.
