Vladimir Vasiljević, director of the HUOT regional representative office: 120 years of innovation in water supply

In today`s Diary of Success, we publish an interview with Vladimir Vasiljević, director of the HUOT regional representative office on the threshold of a significant jubilee, the 120th anniversary of business.

- It all started in 1906 with Mr. Albert Huot and the establishment of a brass foundry for the production of valves and fittings, built by the river Marsoupe, in the small town of Saint-Mihiel in the east of France.

Today, the factory bearing his name is synonymous with constant innovation in the field of water supply, present in more than 40 countries around the world, and part of the SM.SAS group owned by the Dumez family, active in the industrial, automotive, furniture and service sectors.

- Innovations in water supply are related to improving efficiency, sustainability and water quality and the trends are towards "smart systems" and the circular economy.

The water supply sector does not "roll out new models" every other year like the automotive sector, but at the moment, at HUOT, we have several new products as well as dozens of improvements to existing ones.

I started my "French saga" 15 years ago, coming from the automotive industry, in training with my colleague Claude, who was once the initiator of the CiternuUO 1180 code, which represents the item code for a compact, adjustable, insulated, equipped, and ready-to-install, water meter box. Part of the product development process at HUOT is also something we internally call "Round Table Commercialists", where paper notes and polaroid photos from the field were once used, and today, specialized software and social networks help us in that.

- HUOT is committed to the sustainable development and implementation of its business policies in the production of fasteners and connection accessories, fittings and water meter equipment:

- HUOT`s products are designed to work for at least 50 years in the potable water supply network (according to the current EN 805 standard), the factory has an ISO 9001 certificate, and our sales representatives maintain direct and constant contact with their clients to provide comprehensive service and advice on the installation, use, safety and recycling of our products.

- The HUOT company, as well as other members of the SM.SAS group, have been trying to maintain local employment for many years and support numerous sports and cultural activities in France and in other countries where they are present (patron of the reconstruction of the Museum of the Battle of Verden in 1916 on the occasion of its centenary).

The HUOT representative office has been supporting junior sports clubs in our region (basketball, water polo, kayak, sailing, etc.) for several years.
