Djedovic Handanovic: We are working on delivering 38,000 tons of gasoline, 66,000 tons of diesel and 86,000 tons of crude oil for the needs of state reserves

The state is working on delivering 38,000 tons of gasoline and around 66,000 tons of diesel, as well as 86,000 tons of crude oil for the needs of state reserves, in order to increase the security of supply in the coming weeks, said Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, who discussed with Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut the situation in the sector and the measures the state was taking to mitigate the consequences of the application of US sanctions on Naftna industrija Srbije.

At a meeting in the Serbian Government, the two noted that the supply of energy to the market remained stable and that the measures necessary to maintain the continuous supply of oil and oil derivatives were being analyzed on a daily basis.

Macut underlined that the coordination of all state institutions and their timely response were of utmost importance in order to prevent major market disruptions.

– The development of negotiations that the Russian owners are conducting with potential partners is being monitored daily, in order to create the conditions for the extension of the operating license of NIS and the Refinery in Pancevo as soon as possible, which will also have to be approved by the US administration – said the minister.

Djedovic Handanovic, according to the Government’s statement, is reviewing the market situation with oil companies and informing the Government, the President of the Republic and the Serbian public on a daily basis.
