First snowboard park in Vojvodina opens on Fruska Gora

The first snowboard park in Vojvodina has been opened at Brankovac on Fruska Gora. Only 23 kilometers away from Novi Sad, this park with jumps and rails is ideal for all those who love adventures and acrobatics on snow. This snowboard park is the second of the kind in Serbia, while the first such park has recently been opened on Kopaonik mountain.

The idea to create a snowboard park at Brankovac came from a group of young citizens of Novi Sad, who are gathered around the SNB Life Association. On its opening day, this park attracted over 200 young people.

- This park was more than necessary for young people in Novi Sad because the number of winter sports lovers is constantly growing - says Stanislav Altkorn, president of the Snowboard Life Association.

The snowboard run is 200 meters long and up to 15 meters wide. There is one smaller jump as well as one bigger jump that is nearly two meters high. There is also a rail for practicing tricky moves and a platform for practicing jumps.

- It is incredible that even four-year-old kids come here to drive snowboard, and they do it very well. We also plan to organize snowboarding at night until the week's end - says Altkorn, adding that the plan for the next year is to install a ski lift as well.
