The Austrian company Alpla Group, one of the world’s leaders in the production of plastic packaging, has acquired its fourth factory in Serbia by taking over the Energoplast production facility in Belgrade. With this move, Alpla further strengthens its position as a system supplier of packaging and caps for beverages in Southeast Europe, the company announced.

The takeover includes Energoplast’s employees, production lines and existing operations, ensuring continuity of production and a high level of quality. The factory, with an area of approximately 2,000 square meters, is located in the north of Belgrade and produces polyethylene caps using compression and injection molding technologies.

– Energoplast’s high-quality portfolio fits perfectly with our operations on the Serbian market and will be further enhanced in the future with our technological know-how. This allows us to ensure stable supply for our customers and provide them with long-term strategic advantages – said Miroslav Mickovic, General Manager of Alpla Serbia.

With this acquisition, Alpla now owns four factories in Serbia - in Mladenovac, Zrenjanin, Koceljeva and Belgrade. Two of them are in-house production sites, located within the customer’s facilities, which enables the delivery of packaging solutions directly to customers.

The Austrian company, which operates in more than 45 countries worldwide, produces PET preforms, bottles, caps and containers for the beverage, food, household chemicals and cosmetics industries in Serbia.

– With this strategic move, Alpla strengthens its presence in Southeast Europe, stimulates regional value creation and enables us to respond to growing demand in a targeted manner. This means that both local and international customers receive high-quality solutions and shorter delivery times – said Rainer Widmar, Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe at Alpla.

The acquisition of Energoplast was completed on November 1, 2025, after obtaining all legal and regulatory approvals. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
