Swedish assistance to human resource management reform in police

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and Swedish Ambassador to Serbia Christer Asp today signed an agreement on cooperation between the two states in the reform of the human resource management system in the police, worth €1.5 million, it was announced on the Serbian government's website.

Following the signing in the Palace of Serbia, Dacic observed that the implementation of the project Presenting a Modern Human Resource Management Concept in the Serbian Ministry of the Interior would take 30 months and focus on an analysis of the current capacity in the HR sector.

Dacic noted that the goal of the project was human resource management, adding that the overall intention was to contribute to a reform and transformation of the police.

He said that the project was financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), recalling that that was the third project implemented in cooperation with Sweden.

Dacic stressed that Sweden had been cooperating with the Serbian Ministry of the Interior for quite some time, adding that it was the third largest donor in Serbia.

Asp underlined that a considerable amount of funds allocated to Serbia was intended for the Ministry of the Interior.

He stressed he expected a continuation of constructive bilateral cooperation, adding that this agreement would be quite helpful to Serbia in its preparations for full EU membership.
