A national label “Born and fed in Serbia” will be introduced in Serbia, which will guarantee consumers the origin and quality of domestic products, announced Minister of Agriculture Dragan Glamocic.

– We want every citizen to know what they are buying and to be sure that the product bears the seal of domestic origin. Such labels will be defined by law and will mean protection for both consumers and producers who respect regulations and tradition – said Glamocic during a visit to the family meat processing company Lemaic in Vasica in the municipality of Sid.

He stated that new support measures for livestock farmers were being prepared.

– Subsidies are being provided regularly - for fattening pigs, sows and other categories. The state will continue to encourage those who invest in their production. Each fattening pig will be supported with 1,500 dinars, and a public call for the purchase of new livestock equipment will soon be announced – said Glamocic.
