The company currently exports 97% of its production, and products from Indjija are present in the markets of Europe, the USA, Canada, Brazil, Chile, the Middle East, Russia, and Japan. It has also received a permit to export to China, while an inspection for the Australian market is expected in November this year.
This company, which has been operating in Serbia since 2010, and has so far invested more than EUR 50 million and employs more than 400 workers, was visited by Minister of Agriculture Dragan Glamocic. He pointed out that Farmina Pet Foods exported to more than 40 countries, and that exports were expected to grow by 15% in 2025.
The minister added that the pet food industry was one of the fastest growing export sectors in Serbia, whose value already exceeded EUR 200 million annually, with a clear trend of further growth.
– Here we see an example of how Serbian knowledge, hard work and responsibility can be united with modern technology and bring results that are measured in millions of euros of exports. Serbian quality is becoming an internationally recognized brand – said Glamocic.
The majority owner and director of the company, Angelo Russo, emphasized the importance of state support in the development of exports and international cooperation, and added that he was proud that Serbia had become the focal point of the company’s global business.
– With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, bilateral agreements have been reached with more than 50 countries, which allows us to export to all continents – said Russo, adding that the expansion in the next two years would also enable the creation of new jobs.
The Farmina Pet Foods factory in Indjija today employs 415 workers, which is six times more than a decade ago, and annual revenues exceed EUR 170 million.
