Subsidies of Provincial Secretariat – 20 million dinars of incentives for new fish farms

The Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry has allocated 20 million dinars for the construction of new fish farms and the reconstruction of existing ones in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina for 2025.

Assistant Provincial Secretary Milan Dozet presented contracts on the allocation of funds to representatives of four companies.

He emphasized that the goal of those incentives was to increase fish production and enable producers to be competitive in the market.

– The Republic of Serbia has a low annual consumption of fish meat compared to Europe - about 6 kilograms per capita, while in Europe the average consumption is about 40 kilograms per capita – emphasized Dozet.

On the territory of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, about 13,500 hectares are occupied by fish farms, of which 7,500 hectares are in exploitation, and the total annual fish production is about 8,500 tons.

Dozet also announced additional incentives.

– We have introduced another 10 million dinars due to the increased demand for fish. We plan to increase funds for fish farms from year to year, because this agricultural branch is very important and we want to encourage it as much as we can – said Dozet.
