Construction of luxury Oasis resort near Belgrade to start next summer – Famous golfer designing 18-hole course in Becmen

Ernie Els, the former best golfer in the world, is designing the Oasis golf course in Becmen, the construction of which should start next summer. This was confirmed to Politika by Branislav Simovic, director of the Elgolf company, which since 2008, when it leased more than 300 hectares of agricultural land from the Surcin municipality for 99 years, has been trying to implement the Oasis project of a total of 336,500 square meters, which, in addition to the 18-hole course, will have a sports and recreational complex and a resort with 1,400 apartments.

The residential part of the project - villas of various sizes, with one apartment and parking on the plot, and apartments - units with several apartments in a row and separate entrances - was designed by a studio from Atlanta, says Simovic.

– Els’ American studio has designed a conceptual design for our golf course and its task is to promote the project, since this South African was the world number one in this sport. I believe that we will be able to organize the first tournament in Becmen in the summer of 2027. The residential part of the complex should be completed by then, and the entire project in five years from the time the building permit is obtained – Simovic emphasizes.

The condition for all this, he adds, is that the detailed regulation plan for the Oasis complex is adopted in January next year. Its draft is on display for public inspection until November 14 and was developed by the Center for Urban Development Planning - CEP. The plan, which is the basis for all interventions on 352.4 hectares between the existing state road “Sremska Gazela” and the Gibavac forest, was exhibited for early public inspection in February last year, and the decision to develop it was adopted by the City Assembly in June 2016.
