Athletics arena in Belgrade - Invitation for bids from contractors until April 2012

It is becoming more and more certain that Belgrade will get a long-announced athletics arena. The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced that it will soon invite bids from contractors for the construction of this athletic arena.

A public procurement procedure is expected to be conducted in the period March - April 2012, and the estimated value of the project is RSD 50m.

As eKapija wrote earlier, this sports facility, in which EUR 4.8 million will be invested, should be built in the location of Jovan Miskovic barracks, where the Military Academy is situated as well. Within this military complex, lots intended for the athletics arena span 22,000 square meters, and the main entrance to that part of the complex will be located in Oslobodjenja Boulevard. The future arena will span 7,200 square meters, and it will be built in accordance with all IAAF international standards for track and field competitions. There will also be stands for 1,000 spectators.
