The Spatial and Urban Planning Agency of the Republic of Serbia has announced a public presentation of the project for the urban and architectural development of the location of the Kolubara A solar power plant, with the closing of the ash and slag dump and the coal dump.

The project was developed by Andzor Engineering Novi Sad, for the needs of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), and the public presentation will be held from October 8 to 15, during which time the document will be available to the public.

The construction of solar power plants on the ash dumps of the Kolubara A and Morava thermal power plants, which are planned to be shut down, was announced three years ago.

EPS announced a tender for the development of urban planning documentation for solar power plants at these two locations last year, and the tender documentation showed that the Kolubara A solar power plant would have an installed capacity of 71 MW, while the one at the Morava thermal power plant would have a smaller capacity - 45 MW.

Both projects also include works on the closing of the dumps and their remediation.

Obtaining a construction permit, as stated at the time, is planned by the end of 2025.

EPS CEO Dusan Zivkovic stated last year that solar power plants were in operation at the Kolubara A thermal power plant, Morava thermal power plant, Kolubara B thermal power plant, Tamnava East external dump, Tamnava West internal dump, TENT B dump - cassette 3, Klenovnik and Srednje kostolacko ostrvo.

Let us remind that the process of closing down the Kolubara A thermal power plant, which is the oldest thermal capacity in Serbia (in operation since 1956), near the Veliki Crljeni open-pit mines, with a capacity of 271 MW with five thermal blocks, and the Morava thermal power plant, began last fall, when EPS announced a tender for the development of a conceptual design for their conservation.

Opis:
(www.eps.rs/2025)
