Svilajnac to get water treatment plant – Agreement worth 266 million dinars signed

Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic and Mayor of Svilajnac Predrag Milanovic signed a contract on financing the project “Construction of a Water Treatment Plant for the Perkicevo Spring in the Municipality of Svilajnac.”

Mesarovic stated that the project to build a water treatment plant was worth 266 million dinars, and that the Ministry of Economy had provided 210 million dinars for its implementation, while the Municipality of Svilajnac had provided the rest from its own funds.

– It is important that, with the construction of a water treatment plant in the Municipality of Svilajnac, we will have a multiple effect. We will improve the quality, but also the capacity of water, which is very important to us for all the businesses that already operate in the Municipality of Svilajnac, as well as for all the future ones that we want to attract to operate there. The second effect, equally important, are the citizens of Svilajnac who will feel the benefit in their daily lives through the capacity and quality of water – said the minister, according to the ministry’s portal.

According to her, in accordance with legal regulations, a public call for tenders will be issued for the selection of contractors, after which the works will begin, which should be completed in May 2026, according to the plan.
