Serbia to host international soil congress

Scientific research confirms that soil conservation is one of the most effective ways to deal with humanity’s triple crisis: climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. That is why soil is now at the center of global attention - and Serbia is becoming part of that story as the host of the International Soil Congress “The Soil ReUnion,” which will be held from October 20 to 23, 2025, in Vrdnik.

“The Soil ReUnion” will bring together leading scientists, international initiatives, institutions, businesses, experts and practitioners from around the world who deal with various aspects of soil - from pedology and agroecology, through environmental protection and climate change, to innovations in agriculture and sensible management of natural resources. The Congress program includes plenary lectures, thematic sessions, workshops and field trips. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge, present their results and connect with each other both at the regional level and across a wide range of thematic areas.

The Congress is organized by the Serbian Society of Soil Science (SDPZ), and the deadline for registration and submission of papers has been extended until September 15, 2025, and there will be no further extension.

Vrdnik, in the heart of Fruska Gora, will become the global center of the community dedicated to healthy soil for several days, and participants will have the opportunity to learn about the natural and cultural wealth of Serbia in addition to the scientific program.
