Banks to include lower-interest loans in their offer by September 15

Banks will offer special loan products with lower interest rates by September 15, 2025, said Nevena Micic, Head of the Banking Sector Regulatory Development Department in the Banking Supervision Department at the National Bank of Serbia.

– The first type refers to cash and consumer loans in dinars, in the amount of up to 1,000,000 dinars, with an interest rate that is 3 p.p. lower than the average nominal interest rate at which the bank has approved these loans so far, with a lower limit of the interest rate of up to 7.5% – Nevena Micic pointed out.

The second type of loan refers to loans in dinars for refinancing cash and consumer loans in that bank.

– The amount is not limited, and the interest rate is 3 p.p. lower than the average nominal interest rate at which the bank has approved cash loans so far, with a lower limit of the interest rate of up to 7.5% – she added.

Micic pointed out special cash loans of up to 1,000,000 dinars and loans for refinancing loans in that bank that were approved to pensioners with life insurance included. According to her, they will be approved at an interest rate that is 3 p.p. lower than the average nominal interest rate at which the bank has approved these cash loans so far, with a lower limit of the interest rate of up to 10.5%.

– Also, banks that approve housing loans within their current offers will include a special product in those offers - a housing loan for the purchase of the first residential property intended for employees whose regular monthly income is up to 100,000 dinars, with an interest rate that is up to 0.5 p.p. lower than the average nominal interest rate at which banks have offered housing loans so far within their standard offers – stated Micic.

She added that when approving all these types of loans, banks would not charge a fee for processing the loan application.

– All types of loan products under the described conditions will be in the banks’ offers for at least 12 months, which gives potential users enough time to plan and make a decision about potential borrowing – emphasized Nevena Micic.
