Beograd u pokretu Association submits request for tram line 2 to become cultural property

The Beograd u pokretu (Belgrade on the Move) Citizens’ Association has submitted a request to the competent institutions for the tram line 2 to become a cultural property.

In a statement, they say that they submitted the request, which was supported by signatures from more than 20,000 citizens, to the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade, the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, the Ministry of Culture and the Prime Minister of Serbia Djuro Macut.

– This is not a political issue, but a civic request. This example will show how much the institutions and the Prime Minister are willing to work independently, in the interest of citizens and the public good, and not under political pressure – the association stated.
