NIS requesting postponement of US sanctions again

Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS) has sent an official request to the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for another extension of the sanctions, RTS has learned.

NIS has sent a new request to the US Department of the Treasury for a new extension of the sanctions, as the last one-month extension expires on August 27.

So far, the US administration has extended NIS’s operating license five times.

NIS is on the sanctions list due to its majority Russian share, so back in March, the company made a special request to Washington D.C. to remove NIS from that list.
