Both local and parliamentary elections will be called on March 11th, and it is almost certain that they will be held on May 6th, said Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic.
- For economic reasons, President Boris Tadic will call the parliamentary and I will call the local elections on the same day - Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic told Vecernje Novosti daily.
She said that March 11th was the deadline for the beginning of the election process, adding that the ruling coalition had decided to wait until the last day so it could fully complete its four-year mandate and finish what it had started.
According to her, it is almost certain that the elections will be held on May 6, so that the campaign will last less than two months.
She noted that there was no dilemma whether Leader of Socialist Party of Serbia Ivica Dacic would be the Socialist Party of Serbia's (SPS) candidate for prime minister.
