Economic cooperation between Serbia and Italy is improving - numerous mutual visits stimulate trade and profitable business

Italian Foreign Trade Institute (ICE) organized five official visits of Serbian businessmen to the various Italian cities in May 2006 and it made it possible for 25 Serbian entrepreneurs to participate in very important international fairs that were held on the Apennine Peninsula.

Thus, three publishers from Belgrade visited Book Fair in Torino that took place from May 4 to 8. This Fair inaugurated the City of Torino as the capital of the book world in 2006, side by side with Rome.

In period from May 9 to 13, five entrepreneurs from the field of paper industry stayed in Milan where they visited Fair "Grafitalia" in the new "Rho-Pero" exhibit space and "Converflex". The former is the international fair of printing technologies and the latter is the fair of materials and machines used in the cardboard and paper industry.

In period from May 16 to May 20, ten representatives from the field of wood-processing industry stayed in Milan and visited fair "XYLEXPO", the faur that is organized every two years and it represents the technologies and equipment for furniture industry and wood-processing industry. From May 17 to May 19, three Serbian entrepreneurs visited "H2O" in Rimini, which is the fair of water distribution technologies.

At last, in period from May 17 to 20, three Serbian entrepreneurs will take part in fair "Foundeq" in Brescia where metal-casting technologies will be exhibited.

The visits of this kind are the important instrument for further strengthening of economic relations between Serbia and Italy, as well as their relations that are constantly improving, which is proved by the fact that, in the first months of this year, Italy was the best importer from Serbia and the second greatest trade partner.
