(RS) Construction of new junctions across Bosna river near Modriča, Japan provided 10 million USD

On March 23, 2005, on the left bank of the Bosna river in settlement Modrički Lug, the works officially commenced on construction of access junctions to new bridge in Modriča. Government of Japan has provided 10 million USD for the construction of the bridge, whereas "Putevi Republike Srpske" company will invest 3 million KM in construction of access roads.
Besides the bridge in Modriča, the similar one will be built in Doboj, also across the Bosna river, in accordance with the Contract on Economic Cooperation, which was signed by governments of BiH and Japan in 2004. The investor of the construction of access roads and related structural facilities is "Putevi Republike Srpske", while the contractor is "Integral inžinjering". The completion of works on access junctions 1.3 km long is scheduled for November 2005, whereas the bridges, which will be built by Japanese company "Obajei Corporation", are expected to be completed in November 2005. According to project documentation, the length of the new bridge in Modriča will be 240 m, while the bridge in Doboj will be 200 m long. The bridge in Modriča will have two lanes, two pedestrian walks and cycling track.
