Municipality of Sombor received 600,000 EUR from EU for projects for cross-border cooperation with Hungary

Municipality of Sombor have signed the contract with European union on realization of 600,000 EUR worth of six projects for cross-border cooperation with Hungary.

It is the first phase of construction of biking track from Bezdan to the border with Hungary, strengthening of direct foreign investments in West Bačka region and the project for enhancement of cultural and economic preconditions for better quality of life.

The fourth project relates to the programmes for cooperation between sport parachuters from Szeged and Sombor, the fifth concerns construction of modern education system CMC in secondary Technical School in Sombor, the sixth relates to application of HACCP standard in the production and processing of food products, which will be realized with the Secondary Economy School in Sombor.

New open competitions of EU for cross-border cooperation will follow in June 2006. They will concern the projects for organization of the Baja channel, revitalization of Baja-Sombor railway and many other works.
