Chinese customs administration puts Serbian goods on priority list

The participation of Serbian companies at the 3rd International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing—one of the most prominent industrial events in China, Asia, and globally—has already yielded tangible business results and opened new opportunities for cooperation with major Chinese enterprises, according to a statement from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PKS). Marko Cadez, President of the PKS, emphasized the strategic importance of the event, noting that the Chinese Customs Administration has placed Serbian goods on a priority list to accelerate the certification process and streamline other key procedures—an essential step in enhancing Serbia’s export capabilities.

“These are crucial days for Serbian industry. In just three days, our companies held over 500 business meetings with Chinese partners, with several firms already entering into partnerships and signing new agreements. Serbian companies are now integrating directly into the supply chains of major Chinese systems,” Cadez said.

Logistics firms such as Intereuropa Group, Milsped, and Nelt held discussions with more than 60 companies across the automotive and other industrial sectors regarding service provision and entry into Chinese supply chains. “We appear to be on the brink of signing significant deals,” Cadez added. Belgrade-based Silver Bell Group, a leader in the BPO sector, is establishing a representative office in Beijing following more than 200 business meetings at the expo.

Serbia is already experiencing robust export growth to China, with Chinese investments in the country surpassing EUR 5.5 billion over the past four years. To further strengthen trade ties and support Serbian exporters, the PKS has signed a cooperation agreement with one of China’s leading consulting firms. Under the agreement, Serbian companies will receive complimentary legal and technical assistance to facilitate market entry and expansion in China.

“We have also agreed on key next steps with the Chinese Customs Administration to accelerate the harmonization of certificates and procedures. Serbia’s inclusion on the priority list is a strategic advantage for our export sector,” Cadez concluded.
