After Belgrade, which received its first residential community earlier this year, Kragujevac joins the cities actively working to improve energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. The 10 kW solar power plant on the roof of the building was connected on June 4, 2025.
In Serbia, there are currently five customer-producer residential communities with a total installed power of 89.5 kW, among them Subotica, Pancevo, Nis, Belgrade and Kragujevac.
So far, 4,826 buyers-producers (so-called prosumers) with a total installed power of 97.2 MW have been recorded in the Register, out of which 3466 are households, 5 are residential communities and 1335 are classified as other.
Prosumers in the form of residential communities produce electricity for their own needs, reducing dependence on traditional sources and contributing to a more environmentally friendly way of life. This step represents a significant move towards the decentralization of the energy system and the strengthening of local communities in the fight for a sustainable future.
