Construction of new Sava bridge can start immediately – Ministry of Construction issues confirmation of notice of commencement of works

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia has issued the confirmation of the notice of commencement of works for the construction of a new bridge on the Sava in Belgrade. That is the final piece of paper that the investors, the state of Serbia and the city of Belgrade, needed for the construction to be able to begin.

– The Ministry of Construction, acting as per the request of the investors, the Republic of Serbia and the City of Belgrade, is issuing the confirmation which confirms the notice of commencement of works on the construction of a new bridge in place of the Old Sava Bridge – it is said, among other things, in the confirmation of the notice of commencement of works.

It is also said that the date of the planned beginning of the execution of the works that the investor cited in the notice is June 2, 2025, and that execution of the works can begin (immediately) upon the issuing of that confirmation. The document also says that, in filing the request for the building permit, the investor also filed the Environmental Impact Assessment Study, prepared by the Institute of Transportation CIP.
