– Legal legislation is the core of resilient economies and societies and that is why it’s important to have a modern, all-encompassing labor legislation which guarantees loyalty, participation and social cohesion. There is a real impetus of expansion in Europe, and with adequate policies and a strong dedication of the Government, Serbia has the opportunity to make progress toward membership. I thank the member states who are participating in this project. Team Europe can make a difference not just in legislation, but also in the everyday lives of workers and families in Serbia – stated EU Ambassador to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret.
Serbian Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Milica Djurdjevic Stamenkovski pointed out that the two-year project would contribute to the preparation of the new Labor Act and the first Labor Practice Act, as well as harmonization with the legal acquis of the EU.
The project also encompasses the strengthening of the mechanisms for dialogue with social partners, as well as preparations for Serbia’s joining the European Employment Services (EURES).
