Net profit of banks in Serbia in first quarter of this year 42 percent higher

The golden age of banks in Serbia continues and their net profit in the first quarter of this year is higher compared to the same quarter last year by 42%, writes the Danas daily.


Last year, the net profit of banks in Serbia amounted to EUR 1.3 billion, and a year earlier, it was EUR 1.1 billion. If the result from the first quarter of this year were repeated in the remaining three quarters, the profit of banks in 2025 would amount to nearly EUR 1.7 billion.

The banks still earn the most from interest margins. In the first three months of this year, net income from interests amounted to EUR 516 million. Net income from fees reached nearly EUR 200 million in this period.

The assets of the banking sector reached EUR 55.8 billion, and the capital reached EUR 7.5 billion.
