Step closer to world standards - International finance corporation and Chamber of Commerce of Serbia established cooperation on introduction of HACCP certificate in food-processing industry in Serbia

International FInance Corporation (IFC) and Chamber of Commerce of Serbia signed a Memorandum on Cooperation in field of introduction of HACCP system in Serbian food-processing companies.
IFC, a member of the World Bank, initiated the three-year programme "International Standards and Technical REgulations", which should help companies in the region of Southeast Europe in adoption of international operations standards.
- In that way, it will be contributed on long-term basis to the increase in export capacity and the development of private sector in the region. The project activities include SCG, Albania, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina - said Stevan Gregović, IFC Programme Coordinator in SCG.
He pointed out that the companies without certificate on introduced HACCP system would not be able to export goods to the markets of EU and World Trade Organization (WTO) and he added that the requests for implementation of HACCP could be expected soon ion the access of goods to the market chains in the region.
