NeoMedica Nis expanding operations in North Africa, launching production of diagnostic tests in Algeria

NeoMedica, an innovative Serbian company from the field of diagnostic tests, has signed the Memorandum of Understanding with a strategic partner in Algeria, thereby making official the beginning of joint investments in the local production of Naissa tests, announced the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS).

NeoMedica develops and produces tests meant for early detection and monitoring of various diseases, including autoimmune and infectious diseases, hormonal disorders, tumor markers, viruses and other specific proteins. The tests are used on modern Naissa and Uni analyzers, produced in the Nis factory.

By signing this memorandum, NeoMedica has secured the placement of its products in the state health system of Algeria, which encompasses a population of 45 million citizens. Local production and technology transfer will enable a 25% advantage in all tenders, as well as a reduced need for the import of similar products, in line with the capacity of local production.

We are proud of our work and the products are finding their place in state systems outside the borders of Serbia, thereby confirming their quality and scientific value – stated Sasa Trickovic, the director of NeoMedica.

For two years, now, the company’s products have been successfully present in the health system of Algeria. Their application is confirmed through several clinical studies, especially in the field of autoimmune diseases, and the results have been published in prestigious international science magazines. Further research in the fields of tumor markers and gastrointestinal and hormonal statuses, which include another five tests from the company’s portfolio, are in progress.

The official signing of the agreement on production is planned for September this year, during the science gathering which will be organized by NeoMedica in cooperation with its Algerian partners.

At the end of February, NeoMedica commenced the production of hematology reagents in its factory in Cairo, Egypt, and the launching of the production of immunochemical tests in Algeria aims to cover the markets of North Africa and the Middle East with high-tech products.
