DTD Ribarstvo gets permit to export fish, fish products to EU

DTD Ribarstvo was officially granted a permit by the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Power Engineering in December 2011 to export fish and fish products to the EU countries. The ministry's commission determined that the fish processing factory in Backi Jarak met all requirements for exporting products to the countries of the European Union. The newly built fish processing factory completely meets Europe's strictest food safety standards, DTD Ribarstvo announced.

- Thanks to the latest investment amounting to about EUR 5 million, we opened the most modern fish processing factory in Serbia in February 2010. This factory is among the most modern in Europe and it completely meets the strictest European standards. Its main characteristics are: fully automated production and the highest degree of hygiene protection in all phases of fish processing - President of DTD Ribarstvo Tomislav Djordjevic said on that occasion.

Djordjevic stressed that the export potential of that branch of economy, worth over EUR 100 million, had not been used to date due to absence of Serbia-based business entities meeting the requirements of the Europen Union for exporting fish and fish products.

- Owing to huge efforts of the owner and staff and investments in 2010 and 2011, DTD Ribarstvo has got a permit to export its products to the EU and created the preconditions for the export of fish products to the member countries of the European Union. By the way, DTD Ribarstvo also holds a permit to export products to the countries of Russian Federation - said Tomislav Djordjevic.
